There is no other option you must do it if you cannot afford cleanings. You can do anything with will and patience.
My 7 yr old rescue .. Yorkie 3 pounds and mouth is terrible .:: I mixed benonite clay, baking soda, peppermint WHAT a difference after 3 weeks I brushed everyday and used wipe with dog dental mouthwash and rubbed around his teeth .. my 3 yr old from same place is much better but I’ll get hand scaler
I dont think telling people to use this is a good idea because too many will probably accidentally hurt their dog unfortunately but then not bring them to the vet.
