Petlibro vs Surefeed: Best RFID Cat Feeders Compared!

RFID Cat Feeders Face-Off: Petlibro vs Surefeed (Amazon paid links)
*Correction* – The Surefeed does show a blinking light when the battery gets low, but I don’t trust it as I know one of mine will stop working without warning. I’ve always preemptively changed batteries when I notice them slowing down, usually around 6-7 months.

Surefeed Unboxing:

Explore the ultimate solution for feeding your multi-pet household with a microchip feeder. I started with the Surefeed feeder a few years ago. It was an investment that I am SO glad I made as it has removed ALL the stress from cat feedings in our household. So of course I had to try the Petlibro when it was released. These each have their own pros and cons, but are both standout feeders that are truly a game-changer for you and your cats.

  1. I just got a new 6-month-old who grazes VERY slowly throughout the day, while my current adult cat is a piggy who will gobble up anything that’s not locked up. It’s been very challenging so far because they have to be separated most of the day.

I’m thinking of getting both of these. The smaller one for everyday use, and the automatic one for when I’m traveling. Thoughts?

The adult one already has a non-RFID auto-feeder. I used to feed him and his sister (who had to be put down) in separate rooms, but when I was traveling I just had to hope she got enough from the auto-feeder while he ate most of it.

  2. Hi Cameron, we’d love to send you our Robotail smart litter box for a review. Is there a best email to contact you? Thanks Mophy

  3. The SureFeed doesn’t technically ‘recognize’ an unassigned pet. It just automatically closes after a certain amount of time when the assigned pet leaves. There is a delay switch with three settings. Also, other cats can sneak their head from the back while the assigned cat is eating, so they have an accessory lid for an extra cost. Overall, it is a great idea. I recently purchased it for my senior cat that needs to be on a prescription diet. After experiencing it, I feel like I need an automatic feeder for my old man that will cause him to go to the feeder when the food drops. He likes to eat small portions throughout the day and runs to me every time I get up, to ask for food. PawsPik is an auto feeder that uses the microchip, but can only assign one cat vs the SureFeed which can take multiple cats. So I am going to put both of my younger cats who are microchipped on the SureFeed and just get the Petlibro for my senior. I do hope that someone comes out with an automatic feeder that allows multiple cats to be assigned. Thanks for the video! The Petlibro seems like it will be the best option for me.

  4. i have 3 surefeed and they use a lot of batteries.. i emailed the company and they have no plans to have a power supply to plug it into the wall. My oldest cats just likes to go look what is there and then go away without eating.. 4 C-type batteries last 2-3 weeks tops.
